Well you can keep that person out of your life. It's it's co-workers be polite but very distant and keep as far away as you can.

If it's a family member well that's a bit different and harder to deal with. It would help if you could give some more information if you feel able. x

I can't really distance myself from them because I have to live with them

Why do you have to live with them? and if you don't mind me asking, what is your anxiety trigger?

I have nowhere else to go. He says a lot of things that he knows will trigger me.

What sorts of things make you anxious?

I stay away from them. No one who intentionally does that to me does not need to be a part of my life.

I know too much isolatoting is not a good idea but maybe you can quote lose yourself unquote in the gym and nature trails at the library

The first step might be to say, "Please stop. It's not funny. This can actually make me physically sick, and I don't appreciate it. It's not that I don't have a sense of humor, but this is a literal trigger for me." If the behavior continues, cut the person out of your life as much as possible.

I've tried that and all he does is laugh at me

Is this a coworker you're talking about? If that's the case, you may want to file a complaint to the boss. That is a kind of harassment that can have consequences in a professional environment.

No, this is a family member

I don't know your family, of course, but do you think it would help to have another family member go with you to talk to this person, so that you have someone backing you up?
