Was taking abilify but the side effects sucked. So my doctor changed me to Ziprasodone which sucked because you have to eat about 500 calories in order for it to work, I didn’t have an appetite like that, so on New Years Eve morning I took the last dose and quit. Went threw crazy withdrawals for a few weeks and now I’m not taking anything, I feel like shit, I have anxiety everyday all day along with panic attacks. I am fatigue, I can’t sleep, I’m nauseous everyday, I have no energy, I’m moody, I’m crying at times. I have chest/heart pain. I went to the ER a few weeks ago which all my test came back fine. And they gave me Ativan 0.5 which helped. I have an appointment this Friday, I’m going back on some kind of meds because I can’t live like this. Im frustrated with my psych doctor because he always wants to put me on mood stabilizers antipsychotics meds.

Hi have you been diagnosed with bi-polar? If so that is why they are giving you mood stablising drugs and I think this is the standard treatment.

No and thanks, but he said my symptoms are similar to bipolar. And he also said antidepressants can trigger manic episodes so he didn’t want to prescribe me any.

Hi ERCG - do you think your lifestyle in any way is affecting your health or are personal relationships under stress? Sleep is the most important thing in helping your mood. If you can't sleep, then may be you should ask for a sleeping tablet. Can understand how difficult it is if medication does not agree with you and is making you ill. It sounds as if you need a holiday - but guess you are working. Sleep deprivation can bring on psychosis - so be sure to get help for it.

No but I haven’t been able to get a good nice sleep since I stopped abilify and when I was on ziprasidone it always had me sleeping which I didn’t like. But I will talk to my doctor about sleep meds.
