I have been accepted into and should be starting next week in a PHP at a local hospital. The program runs from 9am to 3pm daily and has 4 different group therapy sessions a day including recreational, psychoducational, group, and relaxation.
I know that this could be a really good thing for me to learn to deal with my anxiety. But at the same time I have so much anxiety about even going there.
Anyone out there ever been through a day program?

I've participated in a partial day program. I went when my anxiety first hit me like a sledge hammer. I was introduced to Dialectical Behavior Therapy when there and continued with it once I finished the partial-day sessions. The program was a safe place for me and was very grounding.
I am just ending my PHP and it has been 5 days a week for 4 hours a day. Group therapy has been my favorite and I think what made group helpful was that we really shared openly and it was helpful to hear my own experiences described by someone else from their experience. It may just be the idea that I am not alone in how I feel that made a difference and that I learned I need to pay attention and care for myself — I sometimes have not done that for long periods of time and it has lead to sickness.
