why me?? a short vent about my kinda bad day

I had to work in groups in one of my classes and I swear every time I tried to make a comment everyone (except this one person) basically ignored me, didn't validate what I said, and quickly moved on. I know it's stupid but these girls just made me so mad/sad. Like, this is why I don't contribute to anything. At one point I was trying to explain something and two of the girls just looked so lost and just looked at each other all confused so I just said never mind and then they laughed to each other. Why am I having mean girl problems in college??? Not an inclusive environment in this classroom, I hate it. I just feel like I'm generally a nice person to everyone, I don't bother nobody, I just keep to myself. So I don't understand why embarrassing things happen to me and why people are constantly putting me down.

I’m sorry to tell you, but some girls continue to be mean during college and even after! Unfortunately, when one girl wheels in some followers, they all just feed off each other. Most girls grow out of it by age 30. But one of the biggest lessons you’ll learn is to be friends with people that are kind hearted, trusting, supportive and loving. If you get in a situation like that again, pay attention to the one who didn’t ignore you because THAT person is probably going to wind up being a good friend in the end. I’ve definitely been in your situation dozens of times. I know it feels like it’s “you.” It’s them. Your personality probably doesn’t fit with theirs and thank god for that! People like that are just mean and selfish. I am seriously sorry you had to go through that. But we’re here and we won’t ignore you!!
