I am a bit embarrassed to say this I haven't been to the dentist for year as I am scared but I accept I have to go . I did walk in the door and the staff seem pleasant .
Would it be wired to write a note to dentist to say I would like to be a new patient but scared and embarrassed what state my teeth will be in? . I am not sure if they will judge ? But its not my fault I don't like the dentist .I don't want false teeth so accept I have to go ! Any advice I know this is silly .

Okay you sound like me, I hate going to the dentist but it is something we must do. I straight up told my dentist I'm terrified & he has been so kind to me, I like him just not what he does, haha! He tells me I'm one of a kind, man do I grip those arms on the chair when I'm there. Believe me if it's only been a year they have seen much worse. Stand strong for you. All the best. Love, peace, light, joy & hugs!
Glad I am not the only one . Its been much longer than a year but I cannot be the worst . Anyway who carers at least I am trying to go. Thank you for your words
Don't worry about what they think, everyone has something to say, let it go, who cares? They for sure will not say anything to you, maybe just to brush better & come back...oh & floss too! I'll be with you in spirit. You can do this. Be strong! Love, peace, light, joy & hugs!
P.S. Wouldn't it be nice if the drills made no sound?
I've been through a root canal, not fun & 2 crowns, not fun, I still have 1 more crown to go, not looking forward to it. If I can do it so can you. Stay strong. Love, peace, light, joy & hugs for you!
I will I am going to write my letter and explain . Then going on what they say book appointment . Can I private message you for advice ? If you don't want me to private message I will talk to you through this post .
As an ex dental nurse I can assure you the dentist and staff have seen it all before and will not judge you, you don't have to write a letter, just make an appt and talk to the dentist then.
Dentists deal with this all the time. Trust me when I say not being there for a year is no big deal compared to other mouths they have seen. Anxiety at the dentist is not a new thing to them either. I take a Benzo before going and bring my headphones. My son often goes with me and holds my hand and talks me through it. A note would be completely appropriate. Speak up for what you need.
It's always like that as everyone can't stand dentist, it always gave me anxiety - you just lying there with your mouth open and it really hurts! I still remember when i was a kid - it was hell of week when i had to go there for almost every day to get my teeth done. The only good thing about it was that i hadn't have to to go doc for next 15 years. Last time i've been at dentalspecialists.net/ and things really got better - now they use painkillers for almost every procedure and it feels way better. Thanks god it happen.
As far as my dental health concerned, I'm very careful and attentive. There's a ton of well-known ways to keep it healthy, but the one I rearly hear about is a water floser. It's a great piece of tech to keep my teeth clean and decay free, The device itself looks like this healthincenter.com/best-wat...
It doesn't cost much but provides a bunch of benefits.
