Does anyone find it hard to sit down and journal? Everyday I go to start to write but stop. Maybe because if I start everything will come back to me and I have to relive things.

Misfit23, journaling has never worked for me as well. For the same
reasons. xx
I mean I do it eventually but it's getting to it and not getting distracted. x
Personally, I dont like writting a journal. For me, writting makes it even more prevalent in my mind.
I read it you write it down, it helps etch it in memory. Like note taking in class. I don't need that. I need out of my head. Being stuck in my head is one of my Biggest frustrations.
If it works for you, I'm glad. I rather write all the good things that happened, any moment, feeling or sight that is pleasant. That sticks in my mind ...better for me. Much more positive.
Maybe it can work for you.
Yes, hard to make myself do all that writing and self reflection. I know it'll be productive so why is it such a struggle?
I usually do write good things but a couple of weeks ago my cat died and wrote about that. It just helped to let that out and look back on.
I like just writing and inner acting with others here...that works better for me.
Hey Misfit, you are not alone in journaling issues. Sometimes I can, other times I can't. I do other things and journal when I can/feel like it. I used to try to journal every day, but the pressure got to me- I felt like I was doing something wrong or felt guilty if I missed a day. I probably journal 3-4 days a week. However, in journaling, I do find great peace. Most of the time I feel like a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. The first few minutes might feel awkward if I don't know what to write about, but I use an app called "brainsparker" to help me think of topics. The app provides topics and I like to apply it to my life. That helps me if I feel stuck on what to write about. For example, todays topic says to "reflect back on the last ten years of your life: if you could turn back time, what would you do?" It's not always that deep, nor is it always applicable to my life, but I find it helps. If you are interested in the app, they make it only for iphones. I don't have an iphone, so I subscribed to the e-mails instead. Journaling is just one method, though, and it's important you find what works for you I'm sorry for such a long post- I wanted to be as thorough as possible in hopes of helping. I hope you have a great day!
I don't mind a long post if it's helpful which yours was. 😊 I usually journal when I'm close to a "breaking point". Other times if I'm having a rare very good day I'll write. It's just sitting down and doing it without distraction. Have a great day!
Id feel that writing a journal would be too depressing for me. But if it works for others then good
I am a writer and have not written anything for months. The thought of collecting my thoughts and notes exhausts me.
Some days I don't feel like journaling but I write at least a few sentences.
I keep meaning to write things down in a journal but never get around to buying a notebook to start. Always thought if I did get one I can get some of the pressure off my chest of whats bothering. Just hard for me to get a ride to stores to get things
