Depression because of my dog

I live with my in laws and me and my husband have a dog.. we get on vacation and left him in our home with my mother in law, father in law and brother in law. We come back after 10days and he is completely different. I have raised him from when he was 22days and now he is 8months. He seems to love my mother in law and only follows her around everywhere and seems to dislike me. I feel very betrayed.. I hope this doesn’t seem stupid but I am genuinely very hurt. He is like my baby.

Could you take him to the park? I’m sure playing around with him will get you back in his good graces.

But oh man, that’s Ruff!🐶 Haha, Sorry I had to do it.

Haha that made me smile. 😊 I still do everything for him. Take him on walks and feed him.. although he does not eat the food I give him. I feel so betrayed.. this is my first dog and I guess I expected something else .. 😢

Just keep it up. It may take a little time, but I'm sure he will warm up to you again. When we first adopted our dog he only trusted women and he clung to me and avoided my husband. It hurt my husband's feelings. But he kept walking him, feeding him, and playing with him and now the dog loves him! It did take a couple months. I bet it will be shorter for you since you already have a relationship with your dog.

I looked after my sisters and her husbands dogs for a week while they went on holiday. When they returned their dogs reacted exactly the same way as yours did. I think it's just how some dogs are but I don't know why. Needless to say, after a while the dogs returned to how they where before my sister went on holiday.

Don't worry about it, I think things will go back to normal for you and your dog.

lucky you getting away for ten days without your dog.my dogs got separation issues have to take her everywhere even follows me to the toilet.maybe your dog felt abandoned but a few bones and cuddly toys will do the trick.next holiday you go on give it paws for thought must be barking mad to treat you like that.

He probably sees her as the matriarch and the food giver. I am sure over time the dog will learn to be your bud again. But I also wonder if you are maybe upset over something else too, I am sure having to live with the in laws has its difficulties too.
