Just found this group and am grateful to have done so. Some background: suffered from depression all of my life-started meds in 95. Thought I didn't need them in 10 so I took myself off of them. Had a rough time ending in numerous ect treatments. It seemed to work until 15 when I suffered a relapse. Severe anxiety has been a component, with driving being particularly stressful. Retired from teaching, have few friends and find it hard to find joy in anything. Going through LOTS of meds with dr. but therapy helps. Looking forward to getting to know you and hearing any words of encouragement. Thanks!

Recite encouraging words and thoughts to yourself. You have to first BELIEVE In yourself and that everything’s gonna be all right. Then take one day at a time and start on your journey to healing.
Thanks for your encouraging words. I find that I start off trying to meditate, but fall asleep. I know it just takes practice though. Positive affirmations are a great idea. I appreciate your response. Thanks again!

It’s a feeling of relief and burden lifted off one’s shoulders when you can share with others that’s going through the same situation
