For some, Chronic Anxiety/depression is an illness just like diabetes. Our body chemistry is wired a little different and doesn’t produce enough of the brain chemicals that keep us stable when triggered or faced with extremely stressful situations much like a diabetic persons pancreas doesn’t allow their body to process sugar right without medication.

Some people are able to manage their anxiety without medications just as some diabetics can control their diabetes with exercise and diet. For others, no amount of exercise, therapy, healthy lifestyle, or holistic measures will manage their illness.... don’t get me wrong.... all those other things are extremely helpful when combined with medication. I am one of those people that did not want to take medication and fought it, but now accept that I am one who needs to be on medication in order for my body chemistry to balance. With a clearer mind set, I can now benefit from therapy, meditation, positive affirmations, exercise, journaling, and many other suggestions made by others here.

Don’t be too hard on yourself if you need medication to keep your anxiety in check. Discuss any concerns with your doctor and take his/her advice on proper treatment for your specific situation.

You aren’t alone and we are here for you.

Well said. Our amygdala has alot to do with the chemistry of our brain. My psychiatrist explained it to me. Look it up. Very interesting

Hello, I think sensitive people suffer more from these afflictions, we have over sensitive amydila's (fear centers), so you probably need to be on a low dose of med's to keep it at bay. I would talk to your Dr. about this, you need peace in your life. I am pulling for you. Sending love & hope....Sprinkle 1 xx
