Chest hurts

So as I’ve posted before, I’ve been diagnosed with severe anxiety and mild depression. However, I’m also doing some share of heart check ups to rule any of that out. Today I had an EKG done through a cardiologist and he said it came out great! I was happy! He did also say that he wanted to do a stress test on my heart just to see how it reacts under the stress. Well, later today I went to the store and forgot something so I ran up the stairs and back down the stairs. When I got back to my car to drive home my upper left hand side of the chest was hurting. Almost like it was my collar bone. I started panicking and took an Ativan. I felt a little better but now I’m scared I’m having a heart attack of some sort or what if it’s something bad? Can anyone help??

Hello Addds!

I’m not a doctor and don’t really know, but it sounds like anxiety to me. Health anxiety is real, but it’s just that, health anxiety. There’s usually nothing wrong. I’m sorry that you’re going through this. When all of your heart tests turn out to be negative, you’ll have to let go of having any issues with it. If I jumped at every weird symptom I had, I’d be completely nuts! They usually go away and I’m still kicking, so try to relax and distract your thoughts away from your health and on to something productive. Helping someone else would be a great distraction for you! Wishing you happy thoughts! 🌺🙂🌺

Thank you so much! I always feel like, “wow, have I taken it this far as to making myself believe that something is wrong with me!??”. I will definitely try to do something more productive the next time something like this happens!

I worked for several years in a cardiologist office where I transcribed the notes of a patients stress test for cardiologists. I transcribed at least 25 a day. I had the some of the same symptoms but from what I knew I still worried. I did have a stress test and mine came back fine and I had severe anxiety.

Get your stress test done so you can have peace of mind. I know if I feel chest pressure I take an aspirin and maybe an anxiety pill.

Let us know how it goes. Take care. 🌸🌸🌸🌸

I should probably ask about taking aspirin but yes, the doctor did tell me it may just be anxiety being that my EKG was perfect. I’m hoping I can find a way to rid myself of this worry! I was on a crying spree last night after this incident 😭 thank you ❤️

I’m sorry to hear that. I had a meltdown yesterday and I always come here and respond to other people. That helps me a lot. You are not alone. 💕

EKG shows the rhythms and in the stress test you’ll most likely find out if blood supply is good to your heart, check ventricles and aortas etc. it’s good to know how your heart looks. My ticker looks good but I’d do better if I lost 50 pounds and my diet was better.

It is so hard to not worry but take deep slow breaths.

I also have severe heartburn so I have a lot going on in that area.

Run cool water on your wrists, slow deep breathing and maybe a cool wash cloth on your forehead. Sending you hugs

😁🌸👍👍

Yes! I just feel so anxious for the stress test now, along with the extra blood work that he order that he said could help explain some of my symptoms. I want this month to hurry up and be Over already so I can worry less and get back to normal. Or some version of it!! Maybe I can do the same and look into responding to others to help with my situation! 💕💕

And anxiety becomes part of our life and you’re getting anxious about the test. If there was something the dr was concerned about, he’d have you go to the ER. Really.

I had my stress test done in the ER. It will be okay. Don’t worry. Don’t panic and try not to be anxious. 💕🌸💕
