I struggle with depression myself but I'm mainly here for my wife. She has major depression and I have difficulty dealing with it. So, I'm interested in a group that supports spouses of depressed people. Probably a little depression support for me also.

First of all, good user name. You will find support for yourself here. You may see your wife in some of us. You may also see yourself. Feel free to ask us questions or ask for feedback. This is a safe place. Welcome!

Thank you for the welcome. A lot of what I'm looking for is how to deal with her. I mean, I'm kind of a logical person so reasoning doesn't always help. When I try to talk to her about her issues she tells me that "now is not the time." But the right time never seems to come. Anyway, we have a lot of issues. I do have a therapist and I'm working with her as well. I just thought I'd look for some outside support as well.

Welcome Notagoodusername

It is very difficult to be with very depressed person, it takes a lot of patience, courage and love. And it drains your energy. You definitely need support as caregivers do. Take care of yourself first of all!

I am sure you get support and advice how to be your best for your wife and for yourself. I only have to say that i used to bother and rely on my therapist(don’t have one now) in order not to burden my husband too much.

Thank you. I do have a therapist at the moment and I do feel like I bug her too much sometimes. She's been very helpful though. I just felt it would be beneficial to try and find some people that are actually living in it (if that makes sense). Some real world, practical stuff.

Hi you can search online to see if there are any depression groups in your area or find a therapist.

Thank you for the suggestion. It's actually what brought me here, but I'm still looking for a local group. So far no luck, though.

Douglas Bloch on YouTube is a fabulous resource, he has first hand knowledge and gives very good advice
