private physcology sessions

Hi I am currently seeing a therapist on the NHS but my sessions are due to expire shortly i have found them a great help and although now not needed weekly id like to be seen every six weeks just to keep me talking and going through my problems the NHS do not offer this

My therapist does do private sessions not that she has told me this and i was wondering do you think it would be ok to ask her if she would see me privately or would this be putting her in a awkward situation

Any thoughts welcome

Hi I don't think this would put her in an awkward situation at all and if anything she would be flattered. If she can't then she might be able to recommend someone else. I am very glad the therapy is helping you. x

I would say definitely ask Kaya. You've found her Good n helpful to you and I see no reason why it would put her in an uncomfortable situation. As she is so good at her job, I bet it will have happened before. 😊👍🌻

What does NHS stand for?

Something British. I was going to guess The Minister of Silly Walks but it doesn't fit.

I have been to England. I was hoping the country was like one big Monty Python episode. I was disappointed that people there were actually normal. 😊

in reply to Marshall64

Wow. That’s cool. When did you go? I haven’t been but I had a pen pall in Cornwall way back when I was in grammar school.

Back in 1997. I had a friend who got a job over there with an American company. We drove across the chunnel and did a whirlwind dash through as many countries as possible. I ended up going to Europe three years in a row and I have less than 10 pictures. That was before cell phones.

in reply to Marshall64

Ah yes when you either had to purchase a film camera or a disposable one. 1997 was a good year. Foo fighters everlong. That was a good song. What was the Chunnel like? I been through the Lincoln and Holland tunnel. Did you go to euro Disney? I never been outside the USA.

Not much to the chunnel. You car is put on a rail car IIRC. Didn't do Disney. Just seen the sights. Austria, southern Germany and Switzerland were the best for beauty. Everybody in the Netherlands some English. It was a little harder in France and Italy. People were nice as long as you made an effort to speak English.

Yep! We're just normal n boring I'm afraid. Maybe a little eccentric, with our Pomp and Parades. But, then, I'm Northern, what to I know! 😊🌻✌️

According to Monty Python's Meaning of Life, British are pompous and Americans are always "let me show you this and that". 😊

Hahahaha he has a point. I think.😊 I remember going to School after watching Python on a Friday night and us all doing Silly Walks. Happy days! ✌️😊🌻

Does Northern mean more rural (as compared to London)? Is it like "Life in a Northern Town" by Dream Academy?

Dubba61 in reply to Marshall64

In a way yes, Marshall. The North is beautiful, rolling hills n dales but, industrial, too. Or was. It's where the Coal Mines, where, the Mills, the Factory's, the industry, The fisheries, Tiny houses in dirty streets n the kindest of people. The " worker Bees". Its a complicated identity and very interesting. Goes way back to the 1066 battle of Hastings when the North refused to except William of Orange ( Bill the Bastard) as their King. Consequently he had 100,000 people slaughtered. Almost half the population. Many Midland County's identify as Northern too because they are industrial. But Geographically it is anything North of the River Trent in Nottm. N ohh! Yes, made me Smile. Love that song. Sorry if I go on a bit. It is a Pet Subject of mine.😊🌻✌️

Hey :) always worth asking but unless things changed I’m not sure if they are allowed to go from nhs to private with a client. As I said this is info from 2007 so things probably changed by now :) you could say what you have on this post to her and see what she says! Glad it’s been helpful! How many sessions did you get on nhs? I’m currently seeing a psychologist but she not said when they will stop x
