I'm not a woman but just from dating I know it can be. As one of my ex's doctors told her it's from the hormones etc from the period. Just like a % of women go through "new mom" depression after they have the baby. It's all about the hormones etc balancing back etc.

Yes, my anxiety gets off the chart several days before my cycle begins. I try to allow myself to eat whatever i crave probably not the best thing but it makes me happy. I also talk to myself a lot during this time to remind myself it will be over soon. I cry often and for no reason. I believe its very normal.

I do this too! Eating whatever I crave makes me feel a little better. I get super sad I often would break down and cry for no reason before going to bed. This only lasts for around 3 days. Maybe it's the hormones?

I think it can be the hormones hopefully it is and nothing much worst !!?!?!?

Me too. My doctor recommended extra calcium & B vitamins for this time of month. Both help with mood stabilizing and have been awesome for me. Always check with your doctor though because some people with bipolar disorder can't handle more B vitamins.

It can be. I can tell you that for some people it doesn't help as much because not all people can process some of the B's. My dulaughter had genetic testing & it showed that she doesn't process folic acid which is also one of the b's. Her body can't turn folic acid into L-methylfolate which is something your body needs. We were able to get a prescription from her doctor but it was expensive. ($135 for a 90-day supply) through Brand Direct Health. The brand-name is Deplin. I think you can get it over the counter too, it just isn't regulated as much. I can say that the calcium helped too with some of the mood swings & cravings. I've never had dizziness. It might be a good idea to get your sugar levels checked for diabetes just in case.

OH YEAH! don't miss all those crap days I used to have because of the hormone swings the week before. The powers that be though have a very sick sense of humor, when you finally stop going through that monthly hell, then menopause starts, and it's worse for some of us. Just comfort yourself the best you can, and weather the storm sista...it too will pass.

Hi thankfully I am old now and way past the menopause but it was a real pain when I did have periods. I found in the preceeding 24 hours before I started my emotions were all over the shop and if anything upset me I could easily lose emotional control. The number of times this happened was bad. I am so glad to be past it all now. x
