Anxiety depression bipolar personality disorder
I was on it not too long ago but got taken off after reach 600mgs a day. At first it was working but then I started to break out and it affected my short term memory very badly beside a few other side effects. Can’t have the short term memory affected that due to my line of work but noticed that it started to decline it’s effect before the next dose was due. I later found out that my birth control and many birth controls affect the lamictal making it less effective. Every time I went up on mgs it would work but then my body would get used to it and my moods weren’t so stabilized. Everyone is different though.
By the way it’s one of those meds you have to slowly work up in mgs due to the fact it’s has serious side effects one of them Steven Johnson syndrome which is life threatening. So just keep an eye out for symptoms associated to Steven Johnson syndrome.
Yes I am on 25mg twice daily upping it to 50mg twice daily in 2 weeks how do you know if you have sjs
Well it’s starts off and like sores are like little pimples and spreads your best bet is to google it. And google lamictal and it’s side effects I hate googling stuff associated with medical but it will better explain. Just be very mindful of your body and if see any of the symptoms go to the ER and let them know your taking Lamictal. It’s not very common that this happens but my psychiatrist made sure I was aware. Not trying to frightened you but you need to be made aware for this.
It took a while for me to get up to 600 mgs a few months of slowly increasing the dosage. I think it may have been a little less though but somewhere in that range not too much less.
My doc said that 250 mgs is the minimal effective therapeutic dose where it starts to work but I’m very petite and sensitive to meds I began starting to feel affects at 50 mgs but that soon would stop and my moods where crazily out of control as though I wasn’t on any so we would increase it again.
