After suffering anxiety and severe depression for as long as I can remember I really don't ever remember feeling this bad. For the last 14 years since leaving school I have always battled threw working and college then constantly working ever since, even after a couple of times in hospital and a few months on anti depressants one time, I have always managed to keep myself busy and carry on dragging myself threw, but the last few months have been absolute hell all I do is cry, get andry and upset and feel hopeless constantly. I visited my GP but as I mentioned above medication is not something I would consider, even after my GP prescribing me Sertraline, my anxiety just reading the side affects made me a million times worse and I refuse to take them or any other medication to treat this life districting illness. Help...........

You need to take medication... Or become a marathon runner

Allow your endurance to grow and try to feel a sort of contentment amongst the anguish. Also try and lower your expectations out of life and work your best on being satsfied with having very little

Sounds a lot like me. I will ask you the same questions Im ask myself, are u taking care of yourself, physically, mentally and spiritually. Are u taking time out for fun? I'm struggling right now with expectations that I've placed on myself and others place on me. Not sure if any of this applies to you or not.

If your heart was bad you would take medicine for it. It’s the same with your mind. I take meds but I understand not wanting to become dependent on them. There are many many organic all natural meds or foods etc you can try. I also have one pill that doesn’t have as severe side effects that I can take only as needed. Maybe something like that can help. Diet is a big factor. Maybe you can go through a dietician or holistic medicine specialist that can help modify your activities and diet to benefit you. Sometimes the meds can be worse than the anxiety or depression. You need to examine your quality of life and weigh the pros and cons. Only you know what’s best for you. Best of luck! I agree being active is the best. Take a walk when it flares up. I have trouble with motivation when I’m bad off. I have become a recluse. Make sure whatever you decide it allows for you to maintain a good quality of life. Natural methods help too.
