My daughter has suffered from panic attacks that leave her unconscious. She drives only surface streets to allow her to pull over if she feels anxious and she takes Ativan to help and It has been working. Her company was bought out by a larger corp. and they are trying to force her to travel to another location daily arbitrarily. Her boss agrees that they are trying to force her to quit so no severance or unemployment. Any thoughts to help her?

I agree this is a bad situation to be in, however, the fortunate aspect is that she still has a job. When companies merge there are changes afoot and sometimes loss of employees and layoffs. I had a short commute until our office closed and everyone was dispersed. My commute became 1.5 hours each way three days a week. I harbored anger and resentment towards them which you don't want to express.

True point on mergers, but generally layoffs or job elimination comes with unemployment and/or severance. And her office is not closing. She would be in danger if she were to try a freeway (only route) drive. They have told her that they would consider it job abandonment (ie. she quits) if she does not report to the other location. BTW- her clients are worldwide accessed by phone or online. They are forcing her out.
Hi I don't know what country you are in but if the UK a lot depends on how long she has worked for the company, whether her contract with the new company is a new contract or a continuation of the old one, whether they are aware of her illness etc.
Try contacting ACAS as they should be able to help. And/or try a free half hour with a solicitor (many do them). x
