My husband has dealt with depression for years. He is on medication but stops when he feels better, same with therapy. Then he goes through weeks where he just gets out of bed to eat. No permanent job in three years. We have been married for 25 years and I am just tired... Looking for least expensive support I can find for myself...

Support for Spouse
It's not uncommon for patients to stop their meds once they feel better. What they don't realize is that they feel better because they have been ON medications which may need to be continues for life. BUT, if ou feel better, take the meds and feel better. Rely on your support systems and TAKE our meds religiously!!! Everyone in a while they need to be adjusted. Just take the meds, and join support group or see asocial worker or therapist. This DOES get better with the right therapy, but yOU have to Follow it!!!No easy,I know. Good luck

I am a spouse, too. My husband had been real good about taking his meds, but then started with another symptom - anxiety. Now we have to figure out what will work with that. I have gotten a lot of help through another support group (alanon), which helps me focus on myself and how to give myself the support and care that I need - also the other members help a lot, too. I think the best thing is sharing what you're going through. Good luck!
