Hi everyone, I am quite new :) Ands in need of some support. My youngest son who has moved back home due to a seperation and loss of employment...has severe OCD/PTSD. We have nowhere here for support of the family members going through and it is getting tough! I am 63 years young and now am developing hbp and rapid heart rate; I feel it is behind thew yelling, screaming, throwing things calling names etc etc which is actually obvious to be a prob. I just dont know what to do...he has nowhere to go, it breaks my heart watching him deal with this and I feel helpless and at the same time, do not want to put my well being at risk either. Has anyone ever been in this type of situation?

I am pleased to meet you all..I hope to get to know ya'll better as we go along

Any type off depression is tough on the person and their loved ones. Communication, openness, and love is what I always want. You definitely don't want to put your own health at risk and maybe you need to discuss that. I think action can happen better when there is calmness during the stressful time. Yelling, etc...even tho it helps to relieve some stuff because you're letting it out, doesn't accomplish anything and I always feel better if I feel safe to talk to others and being calm. Try holding on to the positive, it can be tough but you have to keep focusing on that. Support is here for you.

Hi, I understand! My 26 year old son moved back in due to panic attacks, anxiety disorder. He can't work or even go out in public places without the symptoms arising. He refuses any medication as he believes that's what started his problems! He gets angry, crys a lot, says he feels like his life has ended, he feels crazy. We sent him to a treatment place for 2 months but $50,500 later he's still unable to function normally. It breaks my heart as a parent to see him suffer and have no joy. I've been looking for support groups for parents but can't find any except one on one therapy. We can share and support one another! I too have screamed, been angry due to my lack of ability to fix this. As a mom that's my job but we have no control over this horrible affliction. Boundaries, loving support is important. You matter too so please take care of you! I've read a lot of books, neuroscience, the brain etc. it's something they themselves have to deal with through breathing, therapy and meds if they choose. Al anon principals are helpful. Prayer gets me through!!
