As I read the posts here I am often overwhelmed by the acronyms, abbreviations, and drug names. I rarely know what they refer to. So I'm offering to compile a list of them not only for my own edification and understanding, but for others who might come here and be as confused as I am.
So...here are just a few of those I have come across, If you know what they stand for, please send me the definition and I'll add it to my glossary which I will then post for all to see.

I think we can all be more welcoming to new comers by reducing our use of abreviations and acronyms... And taking the time to provide a bit more context.
I agree cesanon. When I post a reply to a new members I try to first use the full word and follow it with the acronym in parentheses. It helps speed up the learning curve. For example, I will write “medical oncologist” followed in parentheses by (M.O.). It helped me learn the words and their associated acronyms more quickly. It also gives the reader a reference to go back to when the acronym pops up again.
I know what you mean, DrWrite. It’s like learning a foreign language. See the list from Tall_Allen’s reply. It is fairly comprehensive. One acronym I did not see in the list that I have seen (and used) is M.O. for medical oncologist. Likewise, R.O. would be radiation oncologist. You can Google many of those acronyms for a more complete description. Best wishes!
I agree. When too many are used, and I start to not understand (and some writers even make up their own), I just skip on to the next post.
• Take some time to make the definitions clear. Write out the name of the meds, the professionals, the diagnostics, etc. If we don’t know what you are posting, there’s no helping.
• Also summarize! Again when the post is way too long, I tend to skip on to the next post.
• Organize your post. Some post have numbers, treatments, diagnosis jumbled and the information is really confusing.
I usually open new tab google it and done. Close new tab and I'm back to post. Works for me most of the time. You would not believe how many times I have googled the same word. Damned ADT (google ADT prostate or you get ADT alarm ads).
Thanks for initiating that. Having a handy glossary will be helpful.
Every forum has its pluses & minuses. Not a newbie to cancer forums. In My Opinion (IMO) "Sticky Thread" of abbreviations, acronyms with explanations + SIGNATURES that follow members post to post without having to reenter their bio would make this site much more user friendly & helpful. Perhaps ADMIN could pass this along to site engineers. The above references will be good in this thread until the next person brings it up in a different thread. Looks like it is called "PINNED POSTS" here . Can any member add a listing to Pinned Posts? Looks like others have aside from Darryl. Abbreviations so much quicker; don't take long to learn. You'll catch on, but agree probably most considerate to spell it out in replies to newcomers.
