Very thin skin

Anyone else on ADT experiencing very thin and fragile skin that tears like paper? Is it the ADT or just old age (I’m 74) or both? Any suggestions to make it better? Thanks.

Absolutely. And I'm 68.

Thin, bruise very easy, mini skin bleeds occur out of no where. Usually when I notice a bruise I don't recall a reason for it. Bluish purple marks appear on my hand. When I was a kid those marks are what my mom would call age spots on my grandfather.

Yikes. It’s so annoying. Tried to change the oil today on a UTV and my arms looked like I took a razor to them.

Yep. When I'm tinkering around is when later I notice lots of bruise like marks.

And yes scratches occur too when I'm tinkering around.

UTV hmm. Cool. Do you have any places that you can let loose with it. Sand dunes, woods, what not.

Actually live in a farm and the UTV is for chores. Haven’t had any opportunity to off road but love the idea.

Your someone who is outstanding in their field.

lol. Seriously we didnt have those when I was a kid (of course) however although my dad sold the farm land my brother lives on the farmstead. He has a couple ATV's that are a lot of fun.

Thanks. Truthfully the utility vehicle is almost a must. It makes the chores a lot easier.

I bet. My dad and I could have put one to good use in the late 60's, 7o's.

Vman, like you and Camps, my skin bruises and tears easily since starting ADT w/prednisone. My Dr. says that the steroid is the culprit.

Yes, I had heard that. But I’m not on prednisone…yet. Supposed to begin abi+prednisone and worried that it may get worse.

Yea Ron there was a time in this journey when it was worse. Could have been during Zytiga period or another period when I was on steroids.

I gotta tell ya though lol. About 6 months ago thinking maybe I could figure out what causes my sometimes vomiting, nausea, blah, blah.

I thought about all my treatments and my cancer and with internal deadpan humor said to myself "what's there to do, I'm damaged goods" lol.

Hope all going well fro you brother it's been awhile

❤️❤️❤️

Camps, Good to hear from you brother. How are things in the Twin Cities? Starting to see signs of spring here with the bulbs starting to flower.

How are you doing with the Pluvitco? Are you still receiving treatment with it? Has your strength rebounded? Hope you are able to be around and enjoy the grandkids.

I wonder if estrogen patches could help with that?  Wassersug ?

That’s worth looking into. Thanks

Yes, I’m 8 months into Degeralix and Enzalutamide… not as bad as your case, but have noticed my skin is much thinner and more easily damaged.

I’ve also had a bad skin rash in my scalp, looks like eczema possibly… crusty scabs which when they come off has made me lose quite a lot of hair. I’ve been put on a topical steroid to calm the inflammation and hopefully it’s starting to ease off now. Nurse said it could be Enzalutamide, or it could be stress.

Sorry to hear this. Easy to say but, hard to do, not to stress with this terrible disease.

Thank you… and yes, pretty hard not to sometimes be a bit stressed. Though I try not to be.
