Zytiga

Zytiga (Abiraterone Acetate) o Zytiga (abiraterone acetate) is an androgen biosynthesis inhibitor used in advanced prostate cancer to further suppress testosterone production beyond standard androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). It is typically used with prednisone to manage side effects.

I read that when zytiga and deltacortene fail, replacing deltacortene with dexamethasone allows zytiga to continue to be effective. I have been interested in prostate cancer for many years but I had never heard of this and I must admit that it surprised me a lot.

anyone taking a combo of zytiga and daralutamide?

November 2023 I started taking Zytiga. In December 2023 I had an angiogram detecting 60% to 70% LAD blockage. In December 2024, due to palpitation/flutter I wore Zio patch for 14 days, which found 5 SVT over a period of 4 days. My question is should I continue taking Zytiga?

If I were CRPC and was using Zytiga but progressing, barring liver breakdown or hypersensitivity to dutasteride, I wouldn't hesitate to add it to Zytiga.

Dad failed Zytiga, Docetaxel, Pluvicto, Cabazitaxel. He has extensive bone metastases. What’s left? Any other options?

Urologist wants 24 months of Eligard and now wants to add Zytiga. PSMA showed no mets other than the presacral nodes. I’m wondering if adding Zytiga is an overkill at this point and if anyone else has a similar situation.

Is Zytiga really necessary at this point or is it an overkill? 2) Is it better/feasible to finish the two year recommendation of Eligard and then monitor my PSA holding the Zytiga in reserve?

I have been taking Zytiga with 5mg prednisone for 6years now I have had side effects of high blood pressure now I have low Potassium level of 2.7 .has anyone else had this issue. My kidney doctor said double the dose of potassium from 10meq to 20 each day and check level in on week.

I just wonder can some side effects appear after taking Zytiga for over a year.

After about a year and a half Orgovyx and Zytiga my PSA began to double. My MO started me on Taxotere which has dropped my PSA and my anemia is a little better. What I would like to know is should I stop the other drugs? My MO wants me to stop all drugs except the Chemo. Is he correct? Poollover

Curious, anyone who’s taken a vacation from Zytiga, Prednisone and Lupron experience joint pain during your hiatus? I’m about 6 weeks into my reprieve and I feel it in all my joints. Not terribly painful but more like arthritis although never actually had that ailment. If so, anny suggestions ?.
