Docetaxel

This may seem like a blunt or potentially insensitive question, but for those of you who have undergone Docetaxel treatment, how many would say you’re ultimately glad you chose that path? From what I understand, its effectiveness tends to be relatively short-lived.

Does fasting before docetaxel make fatigue more tolerable? If so, how long the fasting should last? Should it be only before the infusion of docetaxel or even some hours after the infusion? 5.) Do you have any other tips? Thank you.

Docetaxel is a common chemotherapy treatment for prostate cancer, but patients eventually develop resistance to it. The study found that combining docetaxel with mifepristone significantly reduced cancer cell viability.

My husband wasn't to try to repeat Docetaxel, I am not sure. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Dad failed Zytiga, Docetaxel, Pluvicto, Cabazitaxel. He has extensive bone metastases. What’s left? Any other options?

I’m currently between Docetaxel infusion 4 and 5 and have a very painful area underneath the rear of my tongue. I also have a bit of pain in my ear canal. In reading about Docetaxel, I see that mouth sore spots are listed as a side effect.

unfortunately my dads PSA is still increasing even after receiving docetaxel + Carboplatin. He completed DCT in December and Chemotherapy started in December 2024. He got 4 infusions of carboplatin and Docetaxel but PSA is rising again. Nothing seeems to be working for my old man.

After two docetaxel infusions, PSA dropped to 11. Alkaline phosphatase is dropping too, but remains at around 400. I love my dad so much. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

In this Phase II study, participants in Arm A will receive docetaxel if their ctDNA level is 2% or greater, and enzalutamide if their ctDNA level is less than 2%. Participants in Arm B will receive either enzalutamide or docetaxel based on your cancer doctor’s assessment.

any study/trial done to show Provenge and Docetaxel can be done concurrently ? Tall_Allenany clinical trial to prove that Docetaxel cat be started along with Provenge. My dad’s PSA is increasing - doubling time is one month (4 weeks).

Has anyone else experienced a similar reaction with docetaxel and were able to successfully undergo a second attempt with cabazitaxel? I’d greatly appreciate any insights or advice. Thank you!

I started Docetaxel about 6 weeks ago and have now developed a bad case of the “I’m having a hard time giving a sh-t anymore”. I am 100% safe, and have an appointment with a counselor, but this is so not typical of me. Thanks in advance. Jim

Poollover is still here; in fact, I just finished my 4th round of Docetaxel. Nasty stuff. My biggest problem is I get mouth spores. Any suggestion with how to deal with them. 88 in 4 months, I hope.

anyone have success on Cabazitaxel when Docetaxel failed

My hubby has had 5 Docetaxel infusions. His PSA dropped significantly after first 2 infusions and started rising by a point or two before the 4. & 5th infusions. Should we just stop since he seems to have reached the most it is going to do?
