Casodex

Years ago I read very positive things, it was even said that there would be the same improvement that we had from switching from casodex to xtandi. So it was hoped that it would be much more effective than enzalutamide, and instead it seems to have disappeared into thin air.

Does anyone have experience with Casodex? I'm especially interested in potential side effects; have read much of what's online and it certainly is daunting, at the least.

My PSA WAS off the charts three months ago, but has been brought down to 9 after three months of Casodex. My oncologist said that if my PSA was below 30, she'd hold off on the Lupron or equivalent.

Chemical recurrence in 2020 - more radiation treatment plus Casodex Feb '22, Casodex dropped, so Decapeptyl only treatment since then. PSA has dropped from <0.08 in March 21 and has been less than that, mostly <0.03, over the past two years.

I was diagnosed 02/2017, PSA 11.7 I had a radical prostatectomy 04/17, pelvic node positive Salvage radiation 06/2017 - 09/2017, PSA 0.07 Casodex 06/2017 - 06/2019, PSA undetectable during Rubraca 11/2020 - 11/2022, PSA @ start 0.19; end undetectable Observation 11/2022 - 05/2024, PSA undetectable

We will see how the robotic surgery turns out (most likely OK) but more worried about side affects of Casodex. (50mg)

Started hormone therapy in June--two weeks on Casodex, one 30-day Eligard injection before switching to Orgovyx. PSA is down to .5 from 36. He has heart failure so MO is foregoing abiraterone/prednisone for now, since the PSA response has been good. Thanks for any advice.

Before starting the Casodex he had bone pain in a femur and was taking Ibuprofen sometimes but since starting the Casodex since the last 18 days he says the pain is much better and has not needed any medicine.

After a week of Casodex (Bicalutamide) his PSA went down to 3100. He switched from Casodex to Darolutamide, which he started on 9/5/24 and also received his first Firmagon injection around the same time. At today's appointment (9/24/24), they switched from Firmagon to Lupron injections.

They started him on Casodex injections and the plan was to do introduce an ADPRI drug and radio therapy. Recent scan results have confirmed the spread of cancer to the pelvis area but luckily not the spine.

I have gone through chemo and radiation and of course started with Casodex, then 3mth Lupron shots, a 4 pills daily of Nubeqa...

He has started adt with casodex and lupron. Soon to add zytiga. He also takes flomax. He’s tried twice now and was unable to urinate on his own. Help!!

I had completed and and or failed radiation in 2001, Zoladex for several years, chemo in 2006, Lupron for several years, Casodex, Erleada, Zytiga, robotic prostate removal in 2022, Pluvicto and Provenge in 2023.

He started ADT (Casodex) at the hospital, and last week switched to Nubeqa per his MO at NYU Langone. He got another PSA test on 1/23 at his first oncologist appointment, and it was down to 751. My first question: anyone experience dizziness & trouble walking from the bone mets?

I know nothing beyond the IHT, so need help to list what drugs I should try to get on and whether I keep taking lupron and casodex if I get other drugs.

He starts casodex tommorrow until the approval of Erleada comes through, followed by zolodex injection in the next week or two. Treatment plan: Local radiotherapy to prostate + SBRT radiotherapy to sacrum is the tentative plan, along with lifelong ADT and Apalutamide (erleada).

Had radiation to the lymph nodes and was on Lupron and Casodex for 5 years. Went off treatment a year and three months ago. Cancer returned to one lung only - no Mets to bone or lymph nodes. Treatment now is Eligard and Nubeqa.

Started on Zytiga last year but had to stop due to elevated liver enzymes, so I switched to Casodex about two months ago, but PSA numbers started to climb from 0.1 to almost 0.3 within about 3 months.
