Hello running buddies, not posted for a little while, but still here.

Had a few set backs of late, Needed socket adjusting, as it wrapped too tight around knee making removal difficult, anyway, had it adjusted and seemed just fine, but that led to another problem, on September the 30th I managed to get pb on parkrun of just under 39 minutes, but 2 days later so much screaming pain in the patella region, after visit to minor injuries unit( Where my problem was beyond their remit) I was given an appointment at the "virtual fracture clinic", so after the telephone appointment where the information they had did not relate my problem( because I was an amputee and all problems must relate to that) got a physical appointment, so after 2 weeks of appointments it was decided that I had a Deep Bursa(swelling) in my knee region, ah well at least I now know nothing was broken, so have just had second adjustment to socket to remove pressure across the knee cap, have now run twice since adjustment, and I know bursa has not completely gone but it's getting better slowly, managed a slow 4.25Km last night and quite pleased with that, but now suffering from effects of Covid inoculation, spent most of today in bed with slightly raised heart rate and flu type symptoms, at least my parkrun is cancelled due to flooding so i'm not missing that, I will be so glad to get October behind me, if symptoms reduce I may try an hour on the track on Sunday morning, then I'll be ready for November.

Still winning at life.

Hi Pete, sorry to hear you’ve had all these issues - you were doing so well! Let’s hope things will improve from now on. Not happy to read about your reaction today as I have my jabs booked for tomorrow.😩.. Hope you will feel better by then.. keep winning ☺️

Thanks Oldfloss.. but I’m not hopeful. I’ve lost a day every vaccine so far. I’m a bit under the weather at the moment anyway.. (waiting for colonoscopy appointment) hopefully positivity will return soon..☺️

Oh gosh, I am sorry. Positive hat on and I am wearing mine for you... I think I have been lucky... and apart from an extremely itchy arm with the first ones ... I think I tend to feel a bit tired when the vaccine finally kicks in after a week or so....

I hope the colonoscopy appointment comes through soon x

So sorry to read about your bursa problems - and now adding to it reactions from the vaccine!

When I had the vaccine a few weeks ago, I felt unwell for about 24 hours. It wasn’t much, slightly nauseous, dizzy & headachy but stayed in bed for the day anyway! The elevated heartrate continued for at least a couple of weeks. It was very annoying. I did continue to run, but common sense prevailed and I took it easy for a while. Wishing you a swift recovery!

Oh my,, you have had a really rough time! You were really on track!

Sorry you have been suffering and hopefully, you will start to feel well and recovered from the jabs soon... strange how they zap some folk but not others,. Mr OG and I had our Covid and flu in one go and no issue.

Just rest up, hydrate and sleep and know the walks and the runs will wait :)

Yikes your patience is certainly being put to the test! Hope the knee continues to improve. This COVID jab is an odd one, it seems to be making people tired a couple of weeks on, regardless of how it takes them initially. Some people I know aren't having it because they don't like the side effects. I'd rather put up with them, at least I'm prepared and it's in the diary! Keep winning.

Good to hear about the knee, not so good about the Covid jab effects.

These things seem to be send to us to test us. But as you say, as long as we can see a way to get back to physical fitness, we’re definitely still winning at life! Long may it continue.

Sending you over some patience for both issues and that you may be back to running and walking at full strength, soon.

Thank you Toothpick, going to have a bit of time on the track in the morning, will see what distance I can cover, not too worried about speed (although I would like to do 5k in less than 40 mins) will just amble around listening to sounds of the sixties with tony blackburn to keep me company.
