Been to town

I've lived in Bath for a year now and not until today have I managed to walk the entire length of the town! I do a lot of internet shopping, because normally after a short while of walking round the shops I'm aching, but I do miss not being able to see, touch and feel what I'm buying! Well, today all that changed - I've just got back from spending 3 hours wandering around town - I went to shops I didn't know existed!! I must have built up stamina over the year I've been walking, but not tested myself until now! Three cheers for credit cards lol!

What great progress news...really happy for you. All of that determination and consistency has paid off. Well done!

Thanks Nancylm2015 - I've had serious mobility problems for 9 years, so if this is permanent it's life changing for me! I'm very up and down pain wise, but if I can repeat this even once a month I'll be really, really happy! :)

Now can your bank balance cope with all that window shopping 😂😂😂😂, joking aside I bet it felt great just to wander, so pleased for you. Rfc x.

Oh Rfc it was wonderful! I suddenly felt my age instead of feeling 94! x :)

Geeze, this is the best update ever. I love to hear that walking is opening up your world. Time to get a bigger sholley for all those new stores eh?

Haha, you're right on the money runswithdogs! My sholley holds 5 full, big shopping bags and I couldn't get another thing in it by the time I caught the bus home! It was an absolute delight! x :)

Three cheers for you kay50! You seem to have built up quite a bit of stamina to go shopping for 3 hours. Good for you. I agree that despite the convenience of online shopping, the facility to interact in real time with real people is an unbeatable experience. And we still have lots of that in India.

You're absolutely right suryakaizen, I hadn't thought of people contact. I do tend to be a bit isolated so the hustle and bustle of town and chatting to strangers was very uplifting! I hope you're keeping well :)

That is so good to hear Hidden 😊 I haven't been to Bath for many years but what a lovely place to live. I am also an Internet shopper by and large, but that's by choice, and there are times when I love to wander round the shops and take that for granted. Really great to see your positivity shining through - keep on walking 😊

Thanks for the encouragement jao77 - I thank my angels every day for leading me to this forum. Without it I'd still be virtually house/car bound! The support I've had from lovely people like you is what gets me out of the door!:)
