So yesterday morning I re ran week 2 run 3 of C25k and it went well , however not a lot done then other than typing on my phone, and let's face it, the UV and temps were ridiculously high mid day .So I accepted that I would wait untill the evening.
I decided to go out at 6pm which apparently gave me 2 hours prior to a storm hitting the area π€
It was still pretty muggy and I went out in my running gear of very light shorts and t shirt .
I also wear running shoes , however these are an older pair that have now been retired from running!
As I set out , there were a few clacks of thunder and a sky of patchy dark clouds.
As I left home one of my neighbours shouted through a bedroom window 'Don't forget an umbrella'
To which I replied, don't worry, I have my shower gel π€£
I felt a couple of light spots as I reached 1k and thought ok , here we go but it didn't get any more .
The 2nd k is mostly under tree cover !
Great for rain protection but perhaps not ideal during lightning β‘ π€
It's funny how my pace picked up through this area which as it turned out was the time with a little more rain, my timing couldn't have been better!
At 3k I'm back onto the open road and a bit of an incline !
I was sweating and rolled my t shirt up to under my arms , that felt so good to have just that little bit more cooling π
Luckily the dark clouds now were drifting away from me
At just over 1k to go now to reach home I relaxed my pace a little.
This is obviously something I still keep a very close eye on following my heart attack.
But I'm very pleased to report there have been no issues.
From just about 2 to 3 weeks after coming out of hospital I have had absolutely no indication of chest pain or Angina .
I do though always carry my spray with me now !
I have 1 permanently in the car incase I forget to take the one from the house .
And the house one comes with me on every single walk or run .
I have never yet needed to use it though!
So anyway, I arrived home without actually getting wet !
There was thunder and lightning all the way through the walk but I survived and managed to get the days step count up to a respectable 10,992
Job done π
