An unusual place for a mushroom! 🍄

MissUnderstanding profile image

I’ve been out for a walk this evening to try and stretch out my sore legs (thank you kettlebells and bodypump classes this week!). My hamstrings were sore but the sun was shining and it was lovely to be out, especially after the recent rain. Twenty minutes was just enough!

On my way back along the lane, I spotted a little mushroom growing in a pile of old manure right in the middle of the road.

Nature is amazing! Life springs up in all sorts of unexpected places.

I was very glad no cars or people came along to spot me taking photos of what looked like a big pile of poo…

Ain't Nature wonderful....regrowth from waste? But That would be full of nutrients and left undisturbed... who knows... Interesting walk!

Thank you! I had the thought that sometimes, when life is a bit of a poo, unexpectedly good things can come from that! ❤️

If there weren’t cars driving over it, I’d love to see what turned up growing in the pile over a period of time. Nature is so clever!

Perfect place to grow something, I'd have been tempted to nip home and get a bag, shovel it up and use it in my garden. (Just can't help myself sometimes).A twenty minute walk sounds like just what you needed.

I hadn’t thought about free fertiliser! We get lot of horses around here…maybe I need to be ready with a shovel next time! Great idea!!

I remember my grandmother rushing out with a bucket and shovel when horses had been by, great for roses.

A friend has horses and is going to bring me bags of manure, aren't I lucky?

Great photo MissU 🍄

I used to love getting down on the ground to take mushroom photos when I used to go camping, so many years ago!

Here’s a photo I took when camping in Glen Orchy, 2009 I think!
