#Photowalk Challenge June/July : Finally, a dragonfly!

I’ve had a number of failed attempts to take pictures of dragonflies, including one where I nearly fell in a stream. Today I was finally lucky!

Yesterday was a gym and run day and the DOMS were not too lovely. After a much needed lie in, I popped to the next village for a coffee and a little walk to ease them out. There’s a nice route that follows a river with a couple of little waterfalls. Wandering along, enjoying the sunshine, I was extra pleased to spot some dragonflies…

Taking care not to have any near-miss falls into the river, I crept through some brambles to get close to some of them. It took some patience and a few wobbles (crouching while your quads are sore isn’t the easiest move!) but finally I managed to frame this little guy.

I walked back to the village with a big smile and celebrated with a coffee.

This has been one of my favourite challenges. Thank you CBDB !

Thank you! He was even more blue in real life. I couldn’t get closer because he’d have flown off…I know this from lots of trying! 😂

WOW! That is a beauty!!! What a lovely discovery and the trail route sounds so lovely! Let the dragon flies lead us on sun-dappled paths and gurgling streams.

Thank you! It was a really lovely walk. I’m definitely going to be exploring that area to find some more hidden gems!

I was doing gardening then this thing dropped into my lap.... Flicked it to the ground and then found some paper and gathered it up and put it in the garden... I didn't scream so dead proud... Love the colour 😊

I love dragonflies as does my husband. He gets so excited when he’s cycling and they are flying in front of him. and I get excited too when they are flying in front of me too. Super! Thanks for sharing MU👍🥰x
