Well, I’ve had a rather draining 2 weeks and it has meant most of my usual activities have taken a back burner.
So this morning I was 5 miles behind!!!!
2 weeks ago, I was 16 miles ahead, which felt a safe margin! There were only the one or other gaps in my activity circles, but then it unravelled a bit.
But I’m getting back on the saddle (or rowing machine), and as I’m doing this challenge by adding all activities, I’m hoping I’ll soon catch up.
A 2 mile row this afternoon already reduced the margin to 3.1 miles.
So who else found themselves behind and has managed to catch up? Or are you safe in your advanced miles?
How is everyone doing on their #Walk1000Miles challenge?

Based on my experience from last year, I'd say don't worry about it! You'll catch up! I got Covid last year, which obviously kept me at home even though I felt fine (until I discovered that I could go on walks to official test centers...). Life happens!
I am about 75 km ahead! 🥳 I have no idea how that happened 🤣 I just keep walking... It might change when the weather gets warmer since I'll start biking again.
I am super proud that I've managed to walk 10 km or more on almost 80% of the days so far! Hopefully, my feet and ankles will keep up... 🤔 I gotta look up those Pilates exercises for feet again!
Oh my! I am more organized than I thought: I saved the link! Of course the organization didn't lead to me actually getting a 2x4, so I might have to see if I can use a book 🙃 (I do have a Toe Corrector... a thick rubber band works, too! I got this one: pilatesscandinavia.com/toe-... )
feet and ankles… what a coincidence! I am just writing a plan or mini series to attend to ankle mobility, as I need to work on that. So I’ll be dropping those in April over at S&F.
sometimes in life there can be knock backs , we never know what around the corner and I’m a bit like that as well. Haven’t been myself with this back problem . Spine still sore and haven’t been walking too far, trying to think positive with it being nothing bad as have had cancer before, just always at back of mind, as it is 11 years ago. I’ve got to give it time to heal incase just a a stress fracture . I think I am in the safe region for walking but going to try a few kms tomorrow but not at a great speed. You will get there as well and I will give it a good go just like you. Take care x
I also hope your pain eases up... Well done on the walking you have done so far and especially with everything... I also hope you got out to walk and it was amazing 🚶♀️🚶♀️❤️❤️❤️❤️all the very best to you
Sorry to hear you’ve had a draining couple of weeks, hope you get some respite soon. I’m on just over 300 miles walked so doing ok so far. Do you have any time off or holidays coming up when you’ll be able to walk/row more? That might give you the opportunity to catch-up again. But at the end of the day, however many miles you manage over the year, it’s more miles that sitting on the couch & all movement is good. Enjoy what you can do 😊
Definitely! This challenge has already increased my walking and workouts. So no matter what, it’s all good. But with spring and summer still before us, I think I’ll be able to catch up and put some miles in, ahead of the winter period, when it’s likely that I might get less mileage in.
Ian currently at 32% (distance) and 23% (time) so I’m pretty pleased. If I keep on track I hopefully will get it done before Winter really hits in December
Awesome! That gives you some confidence to weather any storms. Yeah, I’m thinking also about the need to have some extra mileage to weather the winter walking-dearth! 🤣🤣
I am on target mostly as I am pooling all my exercise together... Have been lucky that haven't had any thing to stop me exercising so really happy.. I have 750miles to go
Ahh but you forget I bought the 1000miles badge from last year thinking it was this year's so have now completed 1000miles for 2022 and now working towards 2023 now 😂😂😂😂😭😭I don't read the adverts carefully enough
