As the month comes to a close, I’m just checking in with everyone who is doing the #Walk1000Miles challenge.
I’m currently keeping steadily 16 miles ahead of my average pace marker, but it’s too small a gap to feel completely safe.
Having said that, my Apple fitness rings tell me that I have increased my movement and workouts in February , compared to January.
As mentioned before, it’s not all walking. I decided to count indoor rowing and running as well, as this would still represent a quite considerable increase of distances over the year.
So I think I’m doing ok all thing’s considering.
How is everyone else doing?

That looks good. You must have been doing exercise every day. Well done, it’s good to try get in front of the 2.74 miles average a day. I have done 57 days in a row and I am 125 miles in front but thinking I might need them if I come down with the lurgy like Mr D. Fingers crossed 🤞 I don’t. Going a lot slower as think I have costochondritis and if I push quicker with my arms it hurts ribs and back so going slower till gets better.
I've walked & ran 662 km so far this year - or an average of 11.6 km per day, which is more than 35 km ahead of where I'd need to be to meet my goal. I am good with that as I know I tend to walk more when it gets warmer, though I'll also be biking, so I'll probably want to figure out a "translation" as well... 🤔
We’ll done CBDB, great progress. 👏🏽 This is my 3rd year of doing the Walk1000 miles challenge. The first year I counted walks & runs towards the target & then decided to challenge myself further & just count walks. I walk my dog every day & aim to do at least 3 miles. I missed 5 days of that target in January but have been more disciplined & met the target every day in February, so far. I’m sure my dog enjoys the challenge too although some days she looks at me as if to say “please can I just have a lazy day today!” 🤣
I do 1 walk a day of 3 miles. Very occasionally I’ll split it if I can’t do it all in one go. I’m lucky that my work is flexible and on 3 days a week, I don’t start until 10:30am so technically plenty of time to get the mileage in. It’s a bit harder on the days I start work at 9am 😜 I’ve really enjoyed the challenge, it definitely gets me out & helps motivate me 👍🏽
Nice! And yes, weekends are the days for me when I fit in some delicious longer runs or walks. During the working week it’s a tad more difficult for me. But what is long for some might be short for others. 3mile walks is so great from my perspective and on a daily basis! Awesome!
I am loving it and as you mentioned it my phone is including exercise which I didn't realise until you mentioned it so I am feeling so good doing it and keeping on track gives me such a boost every day
this is what my app shows I have done so far... Again have to say Loving the challenge... Thank you
That’s great you’re well on target. If your like me you want to be finished by end of year . I started 1 st January and on target to get finished before then, illness and everything permitting. Keep going
Thank you and that's me exactly... Plus I bought last year's medal thinking it was this year's so have to do 1250 miles to keep me honest... I don't read things properly... Must do better 😊
