Dangerous Supplement. Mucuna Pruriens. Dangerous side effects you must know.
Unregulated, no quality control, and may contain toxic poisonous contaminates. Lead, heavy metals, mold, fungus etc. Dosage is impossible to manage. Counter reaction to carbidopa levodopa is unmanageable and unpredictable. Makes combining it with real Parkinson's medications a night mare. Maybe just

'Flu and covid jabs at same time !
I'm 83 and have had RA since I was 48 . I normally book my 'flu and covid jabs separately. This year I've "bitten the bullet" and booked them at the same time ( different arms ) at the end of October. I've always felt quite "meh" after the covid jab and last year I felt similarly after the 'flu jab

Myositis or something else?
I am now down to half mg pred for PMR and GCA. I get a bit of stiffness in my hips and shoulders, also my ankles. Nothing debilitating though. However I keep getting horrendous groin pain which cripples me. XRays show no OA. GP checked for inguinal hernia, nothing. I have narrowed down the pain through

Vaccinations and prednisone
I know that there is concern about whether or not to take the COVID-19 vaccine. My experience has been good. Yesterday, having an appointment to get both COVID and flu shots, I took 10mg of prednisone after breakfast (I have tapered to 4.5). I got the shots, had no pain or sensitivity afterwards, and

Tinnitus - where did it originate from?
Hi there! Have seen various posts lately on where members thought theirs had originated from . Mine is fairly straight forward. Last Autumn I had the Flu jab and the latest Covid jab at the same time. Tinnitus started within two days. The ENT Consultant at my hospital says there is empirical evidence

Recent blood test results.
My husband received the flu shot a week ago and I'm wondering if the higher and lower numbers are the result of the shot or the shingles he had 3 months ago. IGA is 48 mg/dl--previous blood test was 68 mg/dl Normal range is 70 mg/dl Abs Lymphs 3.6 1000/mm3

Shingles Vaccine
I have now nearly reached 65 years of age! My GP surgery is offering me the shingles Vaccine. Has anyone had any side effects from it. I am worried as I stopped having the flu vaccine because of painful side effects. Is it safe to have and would you advise having it?

No notification- of any sort- from my Doctor!
Firstly apologies, We’ve been on holiday and had no internet, as it was a cruise - and costs were ridiculous! So hence my delayed response. I genuinely don’t get notifications from my doctor so have not heard about this negative interaction. it is always me chasing the doctor for information eg

Flu jab
Hi, has anyone had any headache related reactions to the flu or pneumonia jabs? I had bad migrane s after the covid jabs, which lasted a long time. I've now been invited for the flu and pneumonia and worried it may do the same. Thanks for any advice.

Fighting for every 1/4 mg drop I get.
Been on pred since 2015. Never was on high doses except one time for pulmonary issues, after the flu shot, when high prednisone doses 40,30,20,10 lasted several weeks before going on O2 24/7. I needed to start all over. I was down to 4.5mg before that. Now I'm going nuts tapering from 7 to 6.75. I'm

Shingles Vaccine
I’m in that inbetween age ie 67 in February 2024 hence now have to wait for the new vaccine while younger people get it before me. I wondered if we would be considered vulnerable and get it that way ? I’ve not been invited by the local practice. I’m currently on 6.5mg pred, but have been here and lower

Shingles vaccine
Hi, I’m 67 and was diagnosed with cirrhosis approximately two years ago, following a bleed from oesophageal varices. I’m now reasonably well, recompensed, albeit tired and with poor exercise tolerance. I’m in the in between group for routine eligibility for the shingles jab, being over 65 and under 70

Yes, You CAN have the Shingles Vaccine
Hi Everyone, I'm writing this just in case there is anyone out there who thinks they can't have the shingles vaccine because they are on pred. I believed this and refused the vaccine. I later found It was only true if you were on over 20mgs of pred (which I am not). Last October, a new vaccine

Hello All, I am writing on behalf of my 89 year old mom who has been struggling with severe leg and back pain. Mom had Guillaune Barre Syndrome in 2009 resulting from the flu vaccine and both knee replacements prior to that. She is diabetic and otherwise cognitively fine. Her pain causes her syncope
