My husband received the flu shot a week ago and I'm wondering if the higher and lower numbers are the result of the shot or the shingles he had 3 months ago.

IGA is 48 mg/dl--previous blood test was 68 mg/dl Normal range is 70 mg/dl

Abs Lymphs 3.6 1000/mm3 Normal Range 0.8-3.1 1000/mm3

I note that 3 months ago your husband's lymphocyte count was 3.5. 3.6 now means his CLL is stable.

The drop in IgA is a fair amount in 3 months, but it's still reasonable for someone with CLL, particularly given they've been through treatment. Lower IgA can mean an increased risk of respiratory, GI and UTI infections, but it currently can't be supplemented. What's important is IgG, which can be supplemented if it drops too low and serious infections occur.

Would you mind maintaining your husband's bio, so it's easier to provide a more accurate, helpful response? This short cut enables you to do so. healthunlocked.com/profile/...

I thought it was fully filled out. What else does the bio need? I'm not very tech.

All you have is "I've been in remission for almost 4 years."

What helps members wishing to provide support, is specific key information with dates on the member's CLL journey, e.g. for your husband:-

Diagnosed 2016?

Prognostic markers if known.

Began venetoclax + ibrutinib on ???

Finished venetoclax + ibrutinib on???

Shingles infection on??

Recent key blood test results;

Date, Lymphocyte, haemoglobin, platelet counts as a minimum. Neutrophil and Ig results a bonus.

Dates should be clearly understandable, because most of the world uses year, month date, whereas it's year, day month in the USA. Hence 3th September 2024 is preferred to 3/9/2024 or 9/3/2024 :)

Having easy access to that summary information, saves responding members from having to check back through past posts. You'll get more replies which are provided faster and are more accurate :)
