Fibroid shrinking meds, when to take them?

so back at my last consultation with my consultant he gave me a years prescription to pass to my doctor to have medication to shrink my fibroid before my surgery for sometime next year. he has prescribe either Zoladeu, Prostap or Tibilone to be used. but having read the information on each of these medications I am starting to wonder if I am best to leave it off until I reach a stage when I think they are needed as they have a lot of side effects even the most common ones are very nice and each say they will give menopause symptoms which at the moment I only get when my body try's to have a menstrual cycle. on the whole apart form feeling bloated at time, and heaviness to my lower abdomen and I am bursting out of my clothes, I'm doing fine. I can put up with this, some days I get the urge to pee more but its not every day and I am in no pain. My husband says to take the meds before the fibroids grow again and cause a problem but I read fibroids are slow to grow. So has anyone been on these meds? how did you fair and is it better to wait or start now before things get too bad?? I know its down to my choice in the end but I'm not sure.

I had a large fibroid excised through hysteroscopic means and 15 months later my uterus was at 20 weeks size with fibroids and adenomyosis, and I was having blood transfusions the bleeding was so bad. So fibroids are not always that slow to come back. I’m now on Prostap for 6 months before a hysterectomy. I’d really rather not be on it but I understand that they need to shrink the fibroid blood supply before surgery to reduce the surgery risks which are quite high in my particular case. so I am sucking up the side-effects. About 3 months in, I had a couple of months of bad sweats/flushes but that has died down for now. I’m still getting some light bleeding/spotting. My legs have swelled but that’s currently a bit of a mystery, it may not be to do with Prostap.
