Hi. I have this condition and have been offered laser treatment in the vagina by a gynaecologist. Has anyone else had experience with laser treatment for this condition please could you tell me how it went and whether it resolved the illness. Thanks

Lichen sclerosus

Have a look at this link..it has been mentioned in other Healthunlocked Communities..you could find helpful information.
My understanding is that it is not very effective. Personally I stick to the steroid ointment and good layer of emollient plus regular thrush treatment as prescribed. Are you in the lichen sclerosis Facebook group?
I don't have LS, but I do have vaginal atrophy and have had the Mona Lisa laser for it - my oncologist (breast cancer) wanted me off any estrogen. I have found it very helpful. In conversation with my gynecologist, she said they are getting good results with the laser and LS. That is all I can offer. Except that, with the Mona Lisa laser, and vaginal atrophy, it needs to be done by the right person with the right levels. Much of the research has used incorrect levels and found no result. Here is Dr. Lauren Streicher's response to an article saying it didn't work. I know I am talking about a different condition, but I imagine it would be something to be aware of if you decide to go ahead. Anyway, I would research it before making a decision, but just wanted to add this little piece. Dr. Stricher's response is a few "pages" in :

I'm sorry - seems that link is no longer working. She wrote to me and said this, a condensed version. This was a while ago, and, again, talking about vaginal atrophy.
The short answer to your question is that the design of many of the studies was flawed. As an example, The Li study, used the wrong settings, did not treat the vestibule, and only a handful of women in the study were even having sex. This is a link to my commentary on the study which was published by NAMS. menopause.org/docs/default-...
