Oral vs transdermal estrogen

It´s often said that transdermal estrogen is safer as it is not metabolised by the liver. However, this article claims that oral estrogen is more cardio-protective:

It states that the risks of oral estrogen are related to CEE (Premarin), not oral E2. Has anyone used both oral and transdermal estrogen and found the former to work better?
