Birth control pill for hot flashes and feeling hot all the time?

Has anyone ever used the birth control pill instead of HRT to get rid of hot flashes and feeling hot all the time? Did it work? My body is not producing any estrogen due to being anorexic and so I was given the HRT estrogen patch(0.075mg)to take away the symptoms of feeling hot and hot flashes and it's been two and a half weeks and I'm getting no relief from the hot flashes at all. I'm wondering if it just needs a little bit more time because of my body being so low in estrogen or what but I'm getting scared that it's not going to work... Does anyone have any experience you could tell me if their HRT took longer than 2 weeks to kick in...have I just not given it enough time? Or whatever birth control pill work better? I'm praying that it's just because it needs a little bit more time but I sure hope it'll kick in within a month because I need some relief fast.

Each person’s experience of menopause is different. Menopause symptoms will affect and bother some people more than others.

One of the main treatments for menopause symptoms is hormone replacement therapy (HRT). This involves taking forms of estrogen and progesterone to mimic the natural menstrual cycle.

HRT can help reduce or prevent the symptoms relating to declining estrogen levels. HRT does not provide contraception, so if a person needs contraception and desires relief from perimenopause symptoms, birth control pills can be ideal for treatment.

However, a person who is taking the minipill, which contains only a synthetic form of progesterone, may be more likely to experience irregular bleeding and hot flashes during early menopause.

Okay thanks for your help. I will just keep on with the HRT Estrogen patch and tell my gyno that I am still not getting any relief yet
