Post menopausal lady
I can understand how this is getting you down, and I hope your GP has recommended some painkiller for this. Years ago I had a Cystoscopy because of frequent urination and low down pain, no cause was found in the bladder but I did find out I had adhesions around my ovaries.
Hi Wizboz, May I ask if the cream that you have been given to apply locally is Ovestin, or similar? If it is, you may already know that you need to apply a dosis every day for 2 weeks, then only twice a week. This will help especially if you apply a bit of the dosis over your urethra (juts a dab with the finger). It will take weeks to feel improvement but it gives good results. Being post menopausal means that the whole area genito-urinary is lacking the hormones(oestrogen) we produce before menopause. Local vaginal creams are safe as they are very low dose. Hope you feel better soon. Stick with the cream, give it time.
Have you had your hormones checked with an endocrinologist? Mine were so low that I was getting uti's constantly for almost 2 yrs then sepsis & post sepsis syndrome. It was awful. I am on a patch & use vaginal cream as well. My dose for the patch was increased twice, I think it's finally getting better. I also had the same prolapse as you & ended up with a hysterectomy. None of it is easy....it takes time to build up the estrogen.
