2 1/2 month cough

I’ve had a 2 1/2 month cough , chest X-ray in December was normal . Been to Gp several times - now still have a cough , on second course of antibiotics , had another chest X-ray at the weekend- now noticed a metallic taste in my mouth - any ideas ,

Had the same thing last year and finally my doctor prescribed a round of Prednisone (steroids) and it was the only thing that worked.

I had 4 days of steroids for something else and cough still there

Mention the metallic taste to your GP..it could be significant in linking to a diagnosis.

The other thing that can be causing it is acid reflux. You will not feel the acid, so it may not feel like that's the cause, but I suffer from that and when I get the persistent cough I take antacid and drink lots of water. It does the job.
