Hello,

I just had a hysteroscopy done to remove uterine polyps (they are similar, I am 22 years old). The surgery is day surgery, so you get to leave the same day. It honestly isn't bad, the recovery just feels like a period. Medication is available to assist in symptoms fibroids may be causing, and they can sometimes assist in shrinking the growth, but it is best to have them removed so that they cause no fertility issues, and so that they can be biopsied to make sure they are not cancerous.
