My husband is having a similar problem, he is flat depressive and borderline diabetic. Unfortunately he loves bread, so trying more protein based breakfast,e.g. Eggs, bacon instead of cereals. He has a Garmin Vivosmart 3, wrist watch, that I got from Ebay, watch out for the wrist size. That gives a step goal and feeds back to a phone app, where it can display sleep, activity etc. A simple daily walk can make big difference. It's a balance between consumption and activity, we watch for cooking oils, bread, booze.
It's the small steps, I contemplated doing the C25K for so long and downloaded the app n never did anything. Last Sunday I put my trainers on n began week 1 run 1. I am only on my 3rd run but I look forward to it and it has helped clear my mind. Be kind to yourself and give it a go. Go at your own pace but it's so worth it. Good luck and as I always say.....onwards n upwards x
Thank U for your wise advice. First I need to go buy a new pair of sneakers - baby steps 1 but then I'll start up a walking regimen agains. hugs Shnookie
Did you know there is a weight loss support group as part of this site? I just joined recently. I’m finding it very helpful.
I would encourage more protein, fewer carbs.
I have mental health issues too, and the medications can affect your weight. when you have low mood, you don’t want to exercise ... I know. 🙂
