hi all , went to see a hip

Specialist yesterday and he has advised me to lose weight before I have a hip replacement in October . I’m 56 , 6 ft 1” and obese . Typical middle aged spread . He says it’s important for me to be thinner in 12 weeks so I downloaded the nhs app . Looking forward to finally losing weight . I can make a journal on the app . Had a Chinese stir fry yesterday with peanut sauce which I know was calorific (250) . Better watch the sauces and salad creams . I’m confident I can do it with your help

cheers Richard

Hello, Richard260, and welcome back to the forum :)

Looks like there's some good stuff in there with the veg and prawns: maybe make your own sauces and then you'll know exactly what's in them.

You'll find everything you need to join in the forum by following this link healthunlocked.com/weight-l... The Daily Diary and weigh in would be a good starting point. Members will be happy to talk about their plans and what works for them, and everyone welcomes a little encouragement.

Onwards and downwards :)

Welcome Richard, you sound very positive and motivated, a good time to begin a new eating regime with hopefully finer weather and seasonal fruit and veg in abundance. I’m a bit of a luddite when it comes to apps but glad you’ve found something helpful. Join in on here for ’human’ support and to let us know how you’re getting on..

Hi Richard260 welcome to the forum. I work in Orthopaedics and our consultants always advise that any weight loss before surgery will benefit you during the actual surgery, the recovery time afterwards and the rehab programme.

Your meal looks absolutely delicious. You can absolutely do it.
