So been following LCHF but now just read the NHS 12 week weight loss plan and very confused, it's almost the polar opposite of what I been doing , so which one is it , all I want to do is follow something simple and lose weight, I can do it just getting exasperated with which one to follow. How do you know which one is right to follow

NHS weight loss
You have to gather information and make your own judgement. The rationale behind rebalancing our diet, with fewer carbohydrates (which convert to sugar in the body), a more relaxed approach to healthy fats, eating real food, home cooked, and not eating between meals makes sense to me, from what I have read.
It particularly makes sense for those of us who have had several decades to cause our metabolism to be less than healthy. This is the first thing that got me paying much more attention to what I eat, rather than just how much healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Basing an eating plan solely on calorie control ignores the fact that all calories are not the same in their effect on the body. Here are some thoughts on that
I suspect that many of the responses are going to say stick with lchf (which I'm 'mostly' following).
I think most importantly... how do you feel you're currently doing? Are you happy? Is there a reason why you think you might need to change?
I used the 12 week plan 2.5 years ago to lose around 18 kilos and couldn't have been happier. I kept it off for a fair while but then went south big time This could just be my story and have no relation to anyone else but I find now, that by cutting out carbs, I don't have the afternoon/evening cravings that I used to. For me that's enough, although I still monitor my cals as per the NHS BMI calculator.
Good luck!
On the surface the two plans may seem like polar opposites but what they both agree on is a diet high in unprocessed foods, lots of fresh vegetables and salads, and very low calorie dense, sugary foods. Trust yourself and how you feel. If you enjoy the food, are losing weight and feel fit, healthy and energised then the plan is working. 😊
The NHS one is one of the safest ways. Whenever I’ve attempted weight loss I’ve followed a pattern similar to that, I just wasn’t aware of the tips relating to food at the workplace and snacking etc. I’m just starting the plan again today and I think being able to track your exercise and food on a chart will work great!

Follow which you think will work best for you. The 12 week plan hopefully gets you into a healthy eating habit for life and aims at 1 or 2 lbs a week. If got a lot to loose or don't like counting then LCHF may be one for you. Read the introductory info and see what will work best for you. Good luck
