How can I lose weight when I am hypothyroid (gained 3 stone before diagnosis) and waiting for a hip replacement so cannot excercise?
Weight loss: How can I lose weight when... - Weight Loss Support
Weight loss
Hi, if you go to my communities and search for thyroid there are 2 or 3 groups that you may be able to get more information from. If you have been prescribed medication for your condition you could have a word with your GP about seeing a dietician through the practice to discuss your problem. I put on 21lbs, partly due to stopping smoking and partly because of a parathyroid problem, but I've had treatment and am now slowly losing weight, something that wasn't possible before. I'm sure there will be something you can do, you just need the right advice and support. Good luck.
Oh dear - sounds like you've been having a rough time of it! 😓
Exercise is important, but not as important as what you are eating. I would follow the NHS 12 week plan, and omit the part about exercise, Having said that, there are good armchair exercises you can do to strengthen and tone upper body and so on - worth having a search on YouTube for some good tips I would think.
You've taken the first step - joining and posting on here 😀
yeah sure, everybody think they lose weight with only the exercises,
but the Thread goes further than this,
Must dieting, without him I do not think we will see the desired result.
You CAN do it, you just have a few extra hurdles 😕 Agree that what you are eating is most important, and if you're not moving much your portions need to reflect this 😕 I was in a very similar position, fed up and frustrated, but careful portion control and GENTLE exercise has helped me turn things around. Check with a Physio with regards to movement, (website good) as it's important to do something 😊
Good luck 😊
