Hello everyone, and welcome to today's Daily Diary.
For anyone new to the Daily Diary (DD), this is the place where we come to share our meal plans for the day, plus any any exercise intentions.
Including the specifics of plans we are following, such as calorie counting based on BMI ranges, low carb, dairy free etc helps you to link up with others who are following similar plans to share ideas, recipes tips and give support.
Remember though, we are not here in a professional capacity, so advice is given in the spirit of constructive support.
As well as being part of a supportive community, thinking ahead, and sharing your menu and exercise aims really does help you stick to them.
To keep the warm and supportive environment of the forum going, everyone is encouraged to comment on each others plans and achievements, however briefly. It's a great motivator and can provide reassurance for members that might be struggling.
Speaking of someone struggling with his own motivation, let me introduce Alan, or "Big Al" as the vet now calls him. I took Al for his annual vaccinations today, and it seems he's become even more portly during the last 12 months. This is him making sure he stretches properly before he does a bit of Pilates.
As for me, I'm following the NHS weight loss plan which works out your calories based on BMI and activity level. Shockingly, my calorie range goes down on Friday, simply because I turn 60!
For today, my plan is:
Breakfast: Greek yoghurt, apple and blueberries.
Dinner: Salad with goats cheese and pear
Tea: Aubergine curry with rice
I'm back on track with "in my kitchen" daily online workouts, plus panic cleaning today as Eldest and her boyfriend, Human Michael, who I have never met, arrive for my birthday weekend! (NB We have to distinguish him as Human Michael because I have a cat called Michael).
I'm looking forward to hearing about what you're all planning!
Thanks for posting early Grigid. Loving Big Al 💖 xx
