Hi Joylal and welcome to this amazing forum. I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads. If you’re using another device I strongly suggest that you use the web page as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around.
I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with your weight and the stresses that come with it. I was there myself a year ago but being an active participant here and learning about healthy foods and how to cook things has seen me lose 10+ stone and go from a size 28/4XL to a 16. Most of this has been done by changing the food i eat. Exercise has only played a small part as i've had a bad knee, just replaced 2 weeks ago.
Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.

I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.. You will find there's loads of tips about better eating, from other members. There are a variety of eating plans followed which will help you decide on a way forward that works for you. Also, sharing your daily menu not only helps you stay committed, it can help other members too.
Good luck I hope to "see " you around.
Thanks
Hi Kaise and welcome to this amazing forum. I don't know if you've realized but you're replying to an older post so you may not get many replies.

Hello joylal. Welcome to our friendly community. It's definitely the right place for support and encouragement. There's plenty going on though it might take you a little time to find your way around the site.
Another thing you can be sure of is that nobody will judge you. Do you have a specific eating plan in mind, it's useful to be able to plan your daily menus as it then makes it easier to stick to. Have a look at the Daily Diary, there's a lot in there to give you ideas. There's a weekly weigh in as well, just choose which day of the week you prefer and then weigh in on that day each week.
Once you find your feet, you will find that giving support to others is very satisfying and will help you with your own weight loss. All the very best of luck as you start your journey.
Hi joylal, welcome to this wonderful forum. You’re not on your own and I’m sure you’ll find encouragement, healthy eating menu ideas. There are forums to advice different type of exercise that you can do at home and NHS easy meals/snacks. The daily diary is good and weigh in. I’m on Wednesday group weigh in. I’ve had lots of support. I joined just over two weeks ago.
I know how difficult it is to exercise in public and body image etc… I have dwarfism, the moment I step out of my home, I get stared at, photos taken of me or they video me and some comments are not nice.
Up until last December, I worked shifts in supported living for adults learning disabilities/mental health, I was all over the community. At times I’d prepare my meals for work. It takes planning, it wasn’t easy if I was on 12 hour shift or split shift / sleepovers, at times unhealthy eating crept in and so did the weight. I’m a wheelchair user for long distances. My mobility is limited, so I’ve been following YouTube aerobics for people with disabilities.
I find the NHS BMI is excellent. I take some comfort that my BMI has dropped.
One day at a time, pace yourself and make time to plan healthy meals that you can take to work. I found batch cooking and freeze so it’s already prept and ready to heat up.
Make use of the forums.
I hope for the best in your weight loss journey 😁
Hi joylai 😊. I’ve been there with the shifts …. Regular and now irregular shift patterns. The thing I’ve found out over the years is that although exercise is good for you and it’s definitely a good thing to do it’s not a necessity to loosing weight. I know that seems totally wrong…, your talking to a gym bunny… well old rabbit really 😂 I’ve done the gym and played golf for well over 30 yrs and I’ve gained and lost weight over all that time. It’s food and drink that controls your weight. If I eat right regardless of what exercise I do or don’t do I will loose weight. On here you will find alsorts of eating regimes, …fasting, calorie counting, LCHF, keto, it’s about what suits the individual person and their life style. You have to enjoy how and what you choose to eat cause if not you will give up. Join a daily weigh in, being accountable helps keep you focused. Join the daily diary that will keep you focused on what you eat and drink. You will be welcome in all groups and will be encouraged and cheered on even if your loss is .1 of a pound or a stay the same. I’m part of the Tuesday Trimners but there is a group for every day. You can do this, you just have to believe in yourself and accept every bit of help there is. Good luck 🍀😊
Hi joylal, I try to take it one day at a time. Xx
