I have a 2 year absence from health unlocked and have been steadily gaining weight in that time . I have decided today I will try again to lose some weight which is seriously affecting my life. I am in a stressful job and have a hectic lifestyle as a full time carer. I do not remember a time I was not heavy and find as I am getting less active my weight is pilling on at an alarming rate...

Welcome back Vance1 :)

I realise you have a busy and stressful life, but we can only help you if you interact with us, so try and squeeze a few minutes a day to log on and read and reply to some of the posts. You'll be amazed at how effective it is at keeping you focused.

As a reminder, because there's been a lot of changes in the past 2 years, all of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary .

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

ary88Restart June 2024

Hi Vance1, I was in a similar position recently, when I felt it was 'make or break' for me. Im on week 5 of lchf plan, 16:8 (8 hour window, start breakfast 11am, last meal 7pm, to avoid snacking in evenings). Its early days, I call it transitioning, but im pleased because I have lost weight but more importantly for me I feel more in control to try and stop overeating fattening food, as well as enjoy my meals, my cooking has improved and my appetite satisfied. Good luck, and shared support on here is the biggest help.

That's great Ary 88. I'm also trying to cut back before I start weighing myself. Good luck
