Hello and welcome, Patchwork1943
I'm sorry, I don't have an answer other than to just leave onion out. If there are plenty of foods you can eat, then build your meals around them. There may be other members with similar experience to you who can offer suggestions.

Welcome Patchwork,
An alternative to onion, for IBS purposes, is the green leaves of spring onions. They can be chopped up and added to your recipes, according to FODMAP - I have no idea if this would still affect your allergies though. You could use herbs and spices instead.
I am an IBS sufferer and have improved hugely since changing my way of eating. Following a low carb high fat diet has made such a difference to me. I am no longer doubled up in pain and wiped out for anything up to 48 hours anymore. It really is a rare occurrence now a days
Wishing you good luck
I think I would just do the recipes without the onion, I have done that sometimes when I had no onions in the house and it came out OK.
Are you able to eat leeks?
Hi Patchwork, one of my friends uses shallots rather than onions, and they seem to be okay, IBS wise for her. She thinks the smaller they are, the less impact they have.
Hi I'm gluten, wheat, lactose and fructose intolerant and like you due to the fructose I can't eat onion, leek, garlic mushrooms my worst. I love spaghetti Bolognese, chilli and curries and still make them ( of a sort) using asofetado which gives you taste of onion and garlic without the side effects!!!! Though haven't found a substitute for mushrooms in my Bolognese, nor beans in my chilli.
