Giving community posts and nhs weight loss a bash :)

My target is to lose 6 stone. To lose 3 stone in 1 year. Maintain for a year or 2. And then lose the other 3 stone.

For the last 10-12 years my weight has been creeping on (2006 was 14stone 6) May 2019 i was at an all time low and felt horrible about myself. I started walking on my days off. I am in a desk job for more than 11 years with long hours (i had put on over 3 stone) I then went down to 4 days working. And on my days off got out and about

The pounds started shifting when i joined a calorie counter app 2 months after exercising. And in 6 months lost 2 stone.

I have joined the weight loss forum nhs to find encouragement and hoping my weight will start losing pounds again. I am not with any slimming diets. As iv tried most of them. So seeing posts from people writing on here will hopefully keep me spurred on.

Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum louisexmcx

This is a peer to peer support group like no other, very chatty and friendly, non-judgemental, and absolutely free 😊 That said, nothing beats joining in, reading posts and replying to others. Our group Weigh-in and the Daily Diary are probably the best places to start.

If you haven’t already then please read the Pinned Posts here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Please read it carefully so you can find all the information you need to find your way around.

Best wishes in your weight loss journey

Indigo 😊

Hi Hidden , having lost 2 stone already you are doing really well another 6 stone is a tough call but perfectly do-able (I have lost over 8 stone in 20 months) and think I have about another stone to go. I wonder if having lost the 3 stone you will then be happy to maintain at that but see the ultimate goal and go for it. I'm still going down but very slowly now but I've accepted that.

The more you join in here the more you will get out of it in helping you stay focussed, join in with one of the weigh-in days and log your weight every week, it really helps keep you accountable.

I wish you every success on your journey.

Hi, Hidden , welcome.

If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.

Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
