Hi Millie,

I am in the same boat as you and just rejoined Slimming World yesterday. I have been on every diet under the sun and find this the best for me. Have you thought about joining a Class? I like the support, but at the end of the day it is what suits you. I wish you luck, there is plenty of support on this site. Keep in touch if you want to and let me know how you are getting on.

I have just lost 2 stone with Slimming World in 4 months as I could not succeed alone. It's an easy to follow 'lifestyle change' it's best £4.95 I spend each week and worth going without other things to meet the fee. I feel so much better :)

Hi I am 5.8 and need to loose 2 stone . I started using my fitness pal app a week ago. It records everything you eat. I have lost 4 pounds. :)

I am near 11 stone and the top scale of my healthy weight is 9 stone, this is what i am aiming for as i dont think any more will look right for my build. I am going for brisk walks every day, eating healthy, cut out sugar, i only drink tea and water now, i try to eat a salad with at least one meal. i am starting zumba tonight too

I lost three stone doing 5:2 - I was a size 16 and now I'm a 10. I've tried every diet under the sun and always put the weight back on again but I've now maintained my 9 stone 4 pounds since April.

There's no need at all to go to slimming clubs - save your money for your smaller clothes! There are many very supportive Facebook groups if you want to share your results, get advice.

It's based on an excellent BBC Horizon programme that aired in August 2012, "Eat, Fast and Live Longer" (vimeo.com/54089463) and it's brilliant for your health. I'm 64 and haven't been slim since my teens.

It took me six months to lose three stone, so probably around four months. I love having a waist and no rolls of fat around my tummy - I thought I'd never lose those, but they're gone!

I just can't believe that I could manage that. I'm going to hang on to this post as inspiration to keep me going. I think you have done so and you look amazing in your photo. And your waist is tiny! Thanks. X

Watch the video for inspiration - it's easier than you think and gets easier the more you do it. I have so much more energy now - I even started running... a year ago at 63! I used to need an afternoon nap. There's an excellent book by Kate Harrison called The 5:2 Diet - you can get it on kindle very cheaply and it's a good read.

I can't believe that. Saw the Photo and thought you must be about 30. No kidding. You look absolutely amazing. I have just been on the scales after two days and have lost a little bit .

That has given me a bit of a lift. Will Watch the video. Thank you for your reply.

Well done ,you are a great advert for it. I totally agree with you about 5:2 versus slimming clubs...wish that Horizon prog, book and all the subsequent info had come out years ago...would have saved a small fortune rather than buy into the Weightwatchers hype !

Still, better late than never. Its the easiest regime to follow and although I did slip a bit over the festive season and took a ' holiday' from it,I'm back straight on it this week...on my second ' fast day ' today.

Hi Millie

I couldn't follow the 5:2 diet because of health reasons, but found that Low carb/High fat worked for me. It has helped me lose weight and feel healthy.
