Good morning Slenderme1 and welcome
I'm assuming you lost all that weight by dieting and, as most of us know, dieting is by its nature a short term fix. If you'd like a long term, even permanent, change, I suggest you have a good read of these posts

Hello! I’m roughly the same age as you and determined not to undo all the good work of the past few months. Sounds like you did an AMAZING job losing weight and I reckon that just the fact you’ve come in here means things are going to start working for you again soon. What has worked for you in the past?
Hi I went swimming once a week did the occasional cycle and ate fruit salads vegetables low fat cheese and fish for 6 months, but I think this crashed my metabolism to the floor as I have put 2 stone back on and all my new clothes are too small or too tight!! But I’m going to sort this out somehow thanks 😊
I was swimming twice a week but hurt my back (doing something else) so couldn’t go for a while. Trying to get back to it and walking more. Can you get back to your exercise? All the advice from BridgeGirl looks excellent.
Hi I think swimming gently may help your back, I currently have a painful back following a car accident and that has helped my in deciding to get fitter and slimmer. I have been told Pilates helps to strengthen your core and your back so I am going to give that a go. I think the key has got to be the right diet and plenty of exercise once fit again! I was eating good food but probably not enough of it and not enough exercise. The advice around insulin and carbs is really helpful and I will work with that if I can get the links to open in the phone... struggling at present 😊
Good morning and welcome Eleanorba
The point of Slender1me's post is that she regained the weight. That's because diets don't work, so what worked for her in the past isn't worth trying again.
I'll give you the same links as I gave her and hope you'll take the time to read and digest them

Hello, yes, I agree with you absolutely that diets don’t work, especially in the long term. All they have succeeded in doing for me is making me obsessed with food whilst on them. Off to have Sunday lunch with family now and try to make Sensible Choices...
You might enjoy the low carb high fat approach, then.
Enjoy your lunch
You are totally right about low carb high fat for me. Since moving in with my partner who’s vegetarian I’ve found it harder to keep the weight off: we’re eating pretty healthy but high-carb (pulses, brown rice etc) meals but once I’ve eaten a big plateful I could always eat the same again! Give me a relatively small piece of chicken and I’m full! But ultimately the problem’s cake and wine. Right, I will stop hijacking Slenderme1’s thread now and head off to my mum’s! Good luck everyone!
Hi, I'm Jacqueline and have just joined. Looking for lots of help myself. Perhaps we could help each other.
Hi Slederme1, you could be describing me! I’m 58 and my weight has always fluctuated by about 20 pounds. Up to my mid 40’s, with some focus, I could drop a stone in a month. Now, with even greater dedication, I can drop a pound a week! So it’s harder but still doable. For me, I need to really limit bread, (a small slice per day), I tend to reduce or cut out pasta and potato and up the portions of veg. In fact, the more veg I eat the greater the weight loss so I have lots of soup. Hope this helps, 😉
